While the previous two books deal with the wizards’ first and second rules respectively, Blood of the Fold goes off in another direction. The opening to Blood of the Fold is very impressive coming right out with some strong themes and an interestingly aggressive larger story about the conflict between the Imperial Order, which was introduced in the previous installment in the Sword of Truth series, and basically everyone. This series has established a pattern by this point of starting right where the previous book left off with very little to no gap between the events in the stories.
